Hey all,

I picked up my new 89 a couple of weekends ago. Drove about 2 hours to Columbus to trade a guy my XT350 for it. Best move I ever made. I have already ridden this bike more than I ever rode the XT...heck most of the time I couldn't even start the XT. It's much more comfortable to ride and I feel more secure and in control of this bike. Besides it just looks cool.

It has just over 6k on it and at one time was a bike used by the Ohio Motorcycle teaching course. I'll be taking that course in a few weeks. The previous owned repainted it Red and Grey (the Ohio State colors). He also added several OSU decals and emblems along with some others. I took them off and in the process peeled a little bit of the paint off the side cover. It's not the best paint job but it will do for now. I'm replacing the battery this week and looking for new rear turn signals. Other than that I'm just going to ride and enjoy it.

My ultimate plan is to put this bike on a receiver mounted carrier on my truck to take it camping with me when I'm out kayaking. Will be nice to be able to run into town or just cruise the sights without having to break camp everytime.

This is a great site and I'm sure I will be spending a lot of time perusing it's posts.
