Need help STARTER

Hi, I have a 1999 TW200 and i need a working starter. I opened mine and its unrepairable due to the magnets cracked. I would like to know what ather years are compatible with my year? Thank all help will be greatly appreciated

After a quick www search, I can't give you the exact answer you desire as I'm not a mechanic, sorry, but your question has my attention. Just for the heck of it, I looked up a starter for 1987, 1999, and 2005 TW's to see if I could tell the difference. They were all different prices from the same website/dealer and different part numbers. On the surface, it looks like all models should "bolt on" the same, but the difference may be in the wiring and internal electrics, which is the root of your question.

I believe, and anyone make the correction, the electrical systems on the TW were improved/modified starting with the 2001 model. There may have been a change from 87 to 88 as well, but in general, sometime near those time periods.

So, from what I believe right now is: the exterior of the starter may be the same and any year will bolt on, but the internals "may" be different.

Now I'm going to dig into the manuals and see what, if any differences there are to help you out.
