Hey all, greetings from (crappy) Manitoba, Canada! (Couple hours North of Grand Forks, North Dakota)

I tried to sign in with tw200forum.com but their bot won't validate my email for some reason, so you guys get me first!

Just bought a 2012 TW for $3100 CAD, it has 1900km (approx 1180 miles) and is bone stock. The guy before me never had it registered or any insurance (don't even think he got the factory scheduled "post break-in period" service done), and he was using it for 50-50 on and off road use. There is minor cosmetic damage and the handlebars are a little bent from a spill (looks like medium speed on gravel, right side down) but all the damage is actually only on the plastics, plus a scrape on the back half of the muffler.
Everything else is showroom mint (including the gas tank), tires still have the red stripe on them, I am looking forward to modding the crap out of this thing, starting with new handlebars and black plastics!

The white makes it look too much like a police bike for my taste, especially the white front fender. I would rather have it matte black on black with silver/chrome, that is obviously the end goal.

I will be in the market for various fun mods, such as round headlight (any make/model, I will custom fit it), LED tail light (w/fender eliminator) and LED turn signals if I can find some I like that are actually DOT approved.
Also doing jets, exhaust, drive sprocket, possibly air filter, and later if I run out of things to do over winter I will look at changing to a shorter seat and bigger gas tank. I don't want to go fully naked like many japanese modders, I want it to look like a military style cruiser, like an old school WWII Harley or Triumph feel, but still with reasonable off-road capacity.

Needless to say I will be tapping this forum constantly for advice, tips and info, this is my first on-road bike (have two little offroad bikes already which I am now selling) and I don't even have my license yet. Where I live we have to take a written test, then a 21-hour safety course, and after that course we can finally ride the bike on the street. Problem is I passed the written test perfectly but I am having to wait over a month for a open spot in the safety course. For now all I can do is sit on it in my garage....

Welcome, old military styled TW would look neat. To bad about not getting on the other forum, it is way more active than this one, but some of us cross over forum members can help when needed. Again, welcome.
