| Not sure this really falls into the "dream" category though I am still in my jammies. Just thought I would stop by and see what was going on. Geeezz, what a surprize, nothing. Now my 'dream', another contest. All those that post in this thread between today and March 4th will be automatically entered into the "I have a dream" contest.A few months ago I purchased a couple of nice bench-top machines; a lathe and mill. These are hobby grade set-ups, but for my needs, fun and very robust. The initial purpose of the purchase was to get some equipment that would help me in building some hanging 'garden windmills'. These units have been just the ticket for this. As an aside, I have been surprised at how many times I have been able to put them to use on other projects. Now just to keep the GRUMPY moderators off my back, I will tie this thread to something TW. In the next month, I will make something 'small and simple' (hint) that can be used with, or appreciated by most TW owners (another hint). The poster coming closest to the 'reality' of 'this' will get 'that'. Get it, this and that ? (humor, not a hint). Make as many guesses as you like, just use a different post so it will be easier for me to read and connect the guess with a name. Take care. Gerry

| Not many entries here so I'll take another stab at it. Possibly a kick stand pad for people that can't weld a big washer on? | |

| "So inclined" doesn't ring a bell at the moment but am I getting warmer if I say a case to put something in? Haha, I feel like I'm a panel member on the Garry Moore show, 'I've got a secret' | |

| Some folks really like the 'great outdoors' if you are so inclined you might enjoy owning a TW. Gerry | |

| Interesting guess Tracy. "Inclined" has more to do with one's inclination. Some folks are more inclined to take a 'hands-on' approach when it comes to dealing with ......... Take care. Gerry | |

| Goldenhtr's tool went out today. Tirebiter's tool will leave tomorrow. Gentlemen, this tool is designed to with stand only a modest amount of torque. Put another way, the tappet jam nut needs to be loose so you will only be opening or closing an easy to rotate tappet. The 8mm bolt head is to allow you to hold the tappet in place while the jam nut is tightened. With this, tightening the jam nut should not change your adjusted position.
Should you attempt to rotate a tight tappet with an 8mm wrench on the bolt head, likely you will break the epoxied bond between the square drive screw and the aluminium tool body. Not a deal breaker, but as that screw loosens, the clearance between the tool and the frame will lessen and the tool will be harder to use. As well, a very slight amount of JB weld debris may drop into your head.
Think of the tool as being an extension of your fingers. Rotate it with nothing but your fingers. Only hold it with a wrench, do not use a wrench to turn it. Finger turn only. Take care. Gerry

| I got my package today and I thank you Gerry for the most generous gift.
Now if this frigid weather would pass, I could get out in the shop and put this tool to work. | |
