PostSubject: TW will not idle?   Sun Feb 15, 2009 4:03 pm

I just replaced my battery. The starter is toast so I have to kick it. When it does fire it will run great with the choke on once the bike is warm and the choke is off it will die at idle also I need to adjust the clutch because it creeps forward when in gear the bike has 9100 miles. I bought the bike to putts with. Is it possible the clutch adjustment is causing the bike to stall even in neutral.

first of all you need to clean the idle jet and idle air passage it is plugged as for the clutch it wont have any effect on the idle if bike is in neutral if it dies when you put it in gear it is possible that the plates are stuck form sitting and may need taken apart and broke loose .

I will yeild to Benson. Another thought for me is that the idle/throttle screw is turned down to much and the carb/throttle is just set to idle to slow. I would still follow Benson's advice first. Gerry

Be safe my Friend......
