| Once, when on an off-road ride deep in the as-yet unridden expanse of Eastern Oregon, Hodaka Guy heard a voice. The voice was muted, over powered by the drone of a small 200cc engine pulling frame, rider and gear out of a dry dusty expanse. "Build it and they will come" he heard the voice to say.......................... Here were are. I need to talk TW, and some one had the foresight to have an option ready. THANK YOU HODAKA GUY !! And then Hodaka Guy's dad will come out of the cornfield on a brand new 1957 TW. It will look identical to Hodaka Guy's current TW (except for the lack of a disk brake in front). Hodaka Guy, people will come Hodaka Guy. They'll come to Oregon for reasons they can't even fathom. They'll turn up your driveway not knowing for sure why they're doing it. They'll arrive at your door as innocent as children, longing for the past. Of course, we won't mind if you look around, you'll say. It's only $20 per person. They'll pass over the money without even thinking about it: for it is money they have and peace they lack. And they'll ride out to the trails; shift through the gears on a perfect afternoon. They'll find they have reserved seats somewhere along one of the mud bogs, where they sat when they were children and cheered their heroes. And they'll ride their TW and it'll be as if they dipped themselves in magic waters. The memories will be so thick they'll have to brush them away from their faces. People will come Hodaka Guy. The one constant through all the years, Hodaka Guy, has been the TW. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But the TW has marked the time. This trail, this bike: it's a part of our past, Hodaka Guy. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Hodaka Guy. People will most definitely come. | |
