| Did you get a chance to ride today? I did a little TDubbery and explored the local game reserve then had lunch along the river. All in all it was a fine day for an escape. | |

| I've had the '08 up to the cabin in northern Michigan where I live most of the spring, summer and fall. I came home (southern Mich) for a dentist appointment and am leaving in the morning to go back. I've been doing a little riding, mushrooming, and screening in a deck. I had Murf (my 13 year old dog friend) with me and he's got cancer so we've been spending a lot of time in the woods trying to squeeze in some quality time together before I have to say bye. I ride a little to get my mind off it but not for long.
It's a really good year for morels and for now that's also taking priority over riding. It seems like everything is busy this time of year. I need to get my garden in soon too.
I really like riding in the spring when the ground is spongy but not real muddy and it's still like that up north. I don't have electricity or internet there so hopefully I'll post a ride report a little later while I'm in town where there's wifi...or on one of my trips home to visit Sue. Gotta get some good rides in first though. | |

| Spend as much time with Murf as you can, that's a rough situation to be in. I've been looking for morels too but I don't think we'll have a good year for them. I think I'll get out and poke around again today and see what interesting thing I can find. | |

| I actually did a short trip the other day. Down the dirt road with my grandson sitting on the seat in front of me. | |

| Today was one of the last sub-90 degree days around here until fall, and I just renewed my OHV stamp, so I took a couple of hours to explore some State Trust land near Colossal Cave. You can just make out a turkey vulture in this one, a few minutes later he swooped across the trail (at eye level!) just about 6 feet in front of me. Desert spoon sending up its flower stalk. Blue yucca and mesquite. Colossal Cave is on the other side of that hill. One path ended in this old corral. Cloudy days are kind of a rarity around here most of the year, so when they do happen I really enjoy riding. | |
