Hello! I just picked up an 89 TW yesterday. Wanted one for years but they were always too high priced (for a play bike anyway) or too far away on the ones that weren't. So I picked mine up for $800 and am really pleased. Not going to be able to do much riding here in Michigan (too cold and ice is no fun - saw a guy on a scooter go down last night...) but look forward to tinkering around with the TW.
I'm going to be riding pretty much 100% on the street so after doing a little research I think the Bridgestones would probably be the best bet. Any recommendations or others to look at?
Also, planning on replacing the chain & sprockets this winter as the current chain keeps kinking while pushing it around the garage (not good). Any recommendations for chain & gearing? Since it will be all street, I'm thinking I'll gear it for higher speed. Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
Finally, I get to Japan now and then for work and I know the TW is/was REALLY popular there. Any JDM parts or other stuff that I should look into picking up? Biggest thing I'm wondering about is how I might be able to improve the electrical, especially headlight output. Again, suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
