| Well I fixed my oil leak. I bought a new battery new spark plug drained the old gas out because I was not sure if the old owner put E-85 in it or how old the gas was. The starter works but sounds sick. I used a small shot of starting fluid and it fired when kicked over but would not stay running. I checked the spark by pulling the plug and grounding it to the head. Still when I kick it over or use the starter I get nothing it does not fire at all? It is only about 35 degrees here in MN. I checked the switch for the kickstand it works I was wondering if there are any switches like the clutch or something I dunno maybe all this cold weather froze my brain too? Oh yeah, I checked the gas flow to the carb. The bike does creep forward when I try starting it in gear. | |

| Well, like they always say, "we need more information". Sounds like you have a spark but no fuel getting to it. How long have you had the bike? Have you been able to ride it at all and when? I would be inclined to first drop the carb bowl and see how unclean it looks. While the bowl is off, open the petcock on the tank and make sure you are getting a good stream of fuel. Get some carb cleaner and remove the carb, unscrew the jets and give every orifice (in your carb) a good blast of cleaner to blow out any (most) crud. Also check your ground connections. A new battery should sound perkier than you discribe. Good luck. Gerry | |

| I went out to the garage kicked the bike a couple of times and it started I thunk I flooded it yesterday. also it was about 10 degrees warmer. So my other question is the dealer told me if my starter made any noise at all that it would work with the new battery. Well with the new battery it would turn over but not very well. When I kicked the bike this afternoon it started once the bike warmed up it died from an idle issue. once the bike was warm I hit the start button and it would not turn over, it would only make a clicking noise. I did buy a brush kit. I looked in my book and did not find how to install the brush kit or the specs for the brushes. Can you help me with any info on the starter? | |

| Do you have the service manuals yet? http://dragonfen.com/07TW200/ The supplement file has info that changed for newer bikes. You'll need both files.
I have the Owners Manual there as well if you didn't get one with your bike. | |

| well this week I installed new clutch plates. during the operation I broke a clutch spring bolt off. I took the mess I made to the shop and they gladly removed the broken piece for 20 bucks. With the new plates I bought some stronger springs and with only three good bolts I had to shop around and get some stronger bolts. In the end it all works good. I found that converting the "foot pound" measurement to inch pounds and using the smaller inch pound torque wrench did the trick nicely. I also noted that the factory bolts had washers machined to the bolt so some very careful shopping was done to get the right strength bolts and washers. I replaced my petcock with a new one then went to get gas it worked for awhile, then I used the valve and sprung a leak a little work on that was successful! I gotta go talk to ya all later!!!!!!!!! | |
