| Since my part of the country will be in the midst of Winter storms for the next week or so, it will give me a chance to pull the left side case of the TW engine off and see if I can mount two sprockets on the primary shaft (14 & 15 teeth). Guess I need to think ahead to my next project. Have been real happy with the smoother ride that the subtank mod provided, but even more travel would be nice. Was on E-bay last night and found a 70's something 125 Hodaka Wombat fork for sale. So, Hodaka Guy, apart from fabing a bracket for the caliper, do you think such a fork would fit (think we have 33mm tubes), and would it likely provide any better ride? Thanks, Gerry | |

| I would steer clear of the Hodaka Forks. They were great back in the day but the TW's forks are a superior fork. Hodaka's had the limpest shocks and forks this side of a screen door. I think the best mod would be a modified tripple tree setup running larger forks of some modern bike. It can be done but would take some work to do.
Keep us updated on your project. :thumb:

| Here is a picture of an after market fork spring you can purchase for your TW. I believe the HyperPro spring is manufactured in Europe and is marketed for the TW 125. It is my understanding that both bikes are the same, only the cylinder/piston are different. The HyperPro springs are a progressive design and seemed pretty affordable to me. I ordered them from a vendor in New Jersey that seems to mod suspensions on some of the big adventure bikes. The install was pretty straight forward, I had to make new internal fork spacers in order to get the right preload for me. Since I wanted "real soft" for my style of off-road, I won't bore you with details. Gerry https://i.servimg.com/u/f85/13/45/01/78/fork_s10.jpg Spring on right is the new progressive. | |
